Lemmy the Elephant

Created by: Loughborough Grammar School
Location: DMU – The Gallery

Overview

The boys of Loughborough Grammar school came up with their own designs based on the values and heritage of our school and to reflect the diversity of our student body and wider community. The design was inspired by the winning and runner up entries.

The winner was Alex Anderson (Year 7)
Runners up: Henry Barge (Year 7) and Harry Milne (Year 7)

A group of designs was chosen and these were discussed with our lead artist, Enzo Smith, a Year 13 Art scholar. Enzo used spray paint, his preferred medium. He incorporated our school colour and crest and a range of elements which link to life at Loughborough Grammar School; scholarship, sport, music to name a few and showed he also displayed some links to our heritage – the year of our opening and moto in Latin – “Vires Acquirit Eundo”. This translates to “We Gather Strength As We Go”.
