Overview

Leicester College ESOL, Creative Arts and Business students researched and chose a culture, gaining ideas about Traditional art styles (e.g., tribal patterns, textile designs, symbolic motifs). Colors and materials used in cultural artifacts and cultural festivals where elephants are featured, such as India’s Elephant Festival. this helped to inspire students to incorporate symbolic or meaningful elements, use culturally relevant colour palettes and reflect on values or themes from the culture (e.g., harmony, strength, family, wisdom).
